Today I am grateful for this old computer. We got it January of 2013 and it has Windows 7 Home Premium which is so far out of date that we get banners across the screen that this program or that program is no longer supported. Yet it works well still. It does all that we need it to do which at this time is not a great deal each morning and when this thing finally gives up the ghost we can honestly say that we got our money's worth so yup, I am grateful for how long this old thing still keeps doing what it needs to do.

Amen. I used to work for IBM, in a former life, and one of the things we in the development labs had to learn was that when a company bought one of our machines, they kept it running for-EVER! And when they would buy one, they would often buy multiples, because they built redundancies into their company set-ups.
ReplyDeleteBut let's be honest, when a home has ONE, and it keeps working? Why go through the hassle of changing it up?
Your blog today reminded me of mine about my little car... as our parents taught us: if it's ain't broke...
Exactly, and as long as this guy keeps going, I will keep using it. Thanks for coming by.
DeleteI keep my computers until they literally die on me. I still have the one my dad got me from the school. It works fast. I guess being a little slow has never bothered me. (((BIG HUGS)))
ReplyDeleteMe neither, we have many things such as our phones. I know come spring I may have to upgrade the phone but seriously I do wonder why at times.
