Well Happy New Year all. Yup, I slept through the countdown here but I watched all the fireworks on YouTube from London, Sidney, Dubai and Paris - LOL. I will be back to top off our New Year Day traditions a little later. Just wanted to seize the day and wish you the bestest, brightest 2025.
Okay now I am back before preparing a roast dinner for the 3 of us. Traditions for the day start off with New Year's Day Mass.
The tree looks lovely and the banner for the Jubilee Year is up as well.

Once home it is time for the Rose Bowl Parade and time for the Christmas decorations to come down and be put away for another year.
As hubby takes off the lights and takes the tree apart and put it back in the box for another year. Tigger tries to figure out a way to get inside the tree and stay there.
She really did try to keep her tree but it was time and although her tissue paper was all worn out and ready for the garbage we did promise her that we would put out some more for her. Maybe not as much as she had but some to play with.
I think she is okay with that and after streaming the parade while putting away the decorations away and putting back our usual thing, everything looks back to normal for another go round the sun.
I don't make resolutions ever. I never saw the point of it because it just seemed like setting myself up to fail at the beginning of the year. Now I just keep trying to do the best I can and that is good enough.
Have a great rest of your day and once more Happy New Year!
Happy New Year!
ReplyDeleteYou too, I hope you come back for the update of pictures ;)
DeleteHappy New Year Allie!
ReplyDeleteAll your stuff is already down? We keep everything up through the month. It's tradition to keep the lights on outside because of the Stockshow that starts. The city encourages everyone to keep their lights on.
I agree no resolutions this year, just always trying to better myself.
Have a wonderful day! (((BIG HUGS)))
You too, and yup, already down. It has always been in our families to put things away on the 1st of January while watching the Rose parade. Huge hugs!
DeleteThe Tigger photos made me smile! And watching the New Year sweep across the world is something I did in 2000. Remember all the Y2K predictions? And here we are a quarter of a century later! Who'd have thought, for all the hype?
ReplyDeleteMay your 2025 be a good and gentle year for you and all you love!
Yeah, there was a lot of that with the Y2K, there was lots of movies at the time with the whole panic of it all. Remember the movie Entrapment which was about a robbery that could only be done on that night? Wishing you the same as well.
