Weekly Musings of the 7th

Hello my friends and family.  This week was mostly the diningroom and livingroom spring cleaning and the start of the kitchen.

I did manage to stay off peeking back at Facebook all week this week.  I am stunned that I managed it because I had been a daily (nearly all day) visitor of Facebook for many, many years.  Taking the Messenger and Facebook app. off my phone and tablet as well as removing the bookmarks made it easier to do so.  Although I was going to peek in Messenger when I saw I would have to log in to do so and told myself that was too much of a bother - LOL.

While spring cleaning we took a look at our streaming services, mostly because the Canadian Football League season has begun and hubby and I love watching them.  TSN is the only streaming service for it here in Canada and being owned by Bell Canada is one of the more expensive services but since two of our services have our favourite shows were done for the season we cancelled those and added TSN so we can watch the football games.  They have cancelled each other out so there is no extra cost and we have a leaner selection and are actually watching new shows that we had noticed but with our main shows hadn't had any chance to watch, we can now.

So, with the Discord app both my phone and our computer I can keep in touch with our family in Florida and they keep in touch quicker than Facebook so that is really nice too.

We started in the kitchen with the under the sink cupboards which had a really bad time when the plumber had to clean a horrible stinky mess and leak and even though we cleaned right after that mess it needed a freshening up as well the drawers, the stove is next and since that it a day job in itself the rest will be done next week and then we should be finished with spring cleaning.

In books I read a two book series and the first one was - Thrones in the Desert

'THRONES IN THE DESERT does what no Biblical novel has done before. It weaves the story of five fictional characters through twelve chapters, with each chapter corresponding to the first twelve chapters of the Book of Luke.

The five main characters--a tax collector, a slave, a guard in Herod's Palace, a Pharisee, and the daughter of a Zealot--have all placed a false god on a throne in their life, only to see it overturned by the rabbi from Nazareth.

"He has brought down rulers from their thrones. He has lifted up the humble," said Mary, the mother of Jesus, to her cousin Elizabeth, when both women were expecting children of great promise. In THRONES IN THE DESERT, a young girl named Eliana overhears Mary's proclamation but is unaware of the approaching storm in her life--and the Messiah's ability to calm storms.

Follow Eliana and four others as they encounter Jesus. Their stories will challenge you to ask: What have you placed on the throne in your life?'

Very good book, in my opinion and I couldn't wait to get onto the second book.  More about that one next week.

So, that was the week, lots of cleaning, online purging, errands and reading.... plus enjoying the beginning of the CFL season... Go Red Blacks!

Seriously, hubby said the only place there were rocks in the playground was under the monkey bars and yes, my mother did say - walk it off.

See Ya!

  1. I've been trading weather days. When it's sunny and dry, the outside claims all my time. When it's rainy, like today, I clean inside. Eventually, it will all get done.

I have tea towels that match your tablecloth. Great minds! 😉

    Have a beautiful weekend! 🤗💖

    1. Sorry I am so late replying to your visit. We shall have to bring the table cloth and the tea towels (we can use them for large napkins) and have a tea party ;) Yup, it all will get done once more. We take it slower (as hubby is closer to 80 than 70) and it still gets done. Have a wonderful day.

    2. These days I have 2 speeds, slow and stop. 😉I, too, am on the downhill slide to 80. Sigh! It seems that 25 was just a couple of years ago.

Wow, another week flying by again.  Hot, hazy and humid as well.  Although a few nights were below 20C so that was okay.  I find that I am...
