Days of Gratitude - Day 43

Today I want to say thank you to the nuns that I had as teachers.  Mainly because society has this idea that they all were mean, or scary or cruel and comics and shows make fun of being taught by them all the time.  The nuns that taught in our schools were kind and caring.  I remember one of the nuns on yard duty having kindergarten and grade 1 children all holding one of her fingers like a flock of 10 around her as she carefully tried to walk with them all.  When they came outside we all ran to them, calling "Sister!  Sister!"

Yes, I know there were those that did not live the gospel and were doing evil things, like all people can do but these Sisters of St. Joseph loved children and showed it every day.  When I watch the movies - Bells of St. Mary or Trouble with Angels I remember these good sisters and thank them for touching my life.

  1. Amen. My personal experience with nuns was more of a social/familial nature: my great aunt was a fun person! There are real people under those habits, and I'm glad you had some great mentors in those who taught at your schools!
