And keeping along the same path as yesterday, I am grateful for the wonderful priests that I had too. Yes, I know there are some that are not following the gospel or their calling, if they even had one but that is not all of them. Yes, there were ones who were stern that were in our parish from time to time but for the most part these fathers that I knew listened to me, answered my questions and cared for the parish they were assigned to.
The two we have in our parish now are a long way from their home which is Nigeria and probably wonder at many of our ways compared to the way they were raised but they are really good men and they are there any time you call upon them. I am grateful for them and the love they show this family of parishes.

A perfect complement to yesterday's gratitude. It takes a special person to take on holy orders and shepherd a parish.
ReplyDeleteIt sure does, I just think of parish meetings, committee meetings and all those things on top of saying the masses, funerals, visiting schools - I get tired just listing all things they have to attend. The meetings would be a huge no for me and yet they do it with a smile and prayer.
