Hubby finished that kit he found at Wal-Mart or as we call it Wally World. It looks amazing and everything lights up and moves.
Isn't that something? He thinks it is no big deal but I know for a fact that there is no way that I could manage doing that at all. The Ferris wheel turns and the lights change colour.
We were back to the farmers market again although I am still feeling a little intimidated by it all. I am always sure I am missing something or in the wrong place. I am sure as I go more regular it will get more comfortable. Could be because it is so people-ly and they all seem to know where they are going and what they are doing. I know it is probably not true but that is just me.
Lots of photos have been gone through and getting folders down from 400+ to 75 and moving those to new folders that makes it easier has been good. BTW that is each folder has over 400 to over 1,000 photos in each and I am trying to cut most down to under 100 or less. Hubby is working on his the same too. Over the years there were lots of doubles of things or just a bunch taken of the same thing.
Oh and at the beginning of the week I had to take in my hearing aids to be adjusted as that high squeal is still happening. They gave me a loaner pair but these are not hooked up to my phone and I sure miss that advantage, now I have to use headphones again in morning walks and such and I got so spoiled with the hearing aids that I find it a bother. Can't wait until I get mine back again and hopefully the squeal problem will be gone.
So, that was our week, quiet and puttering but with fun too. Just started a new book so I will leave that until next week to cover.
Don't you just love that word?
Hope you have a lovely time whatever you get up too.

Ooh! What a great word! Gunnywiggles. Words that I don't have occasion to use frequently don't often stick longer that the original reading and amusement, but what a great word!
ReplyDeleteLoving the kit... another smile from me! And I'm sure you'll become familiar with the farmer's market if you go regularly. People-y places can result in my own leaving early, "just because". But once one settles in and becomes "a regular", they aren't as bad, are they?
Hope those hearing aids get fixed soon!
Hugs & have a great weekend.
- Barb (OKM)
p.s. I came hunting for this one, it wasn't in my reading list yet.
Yes, I still sometimes have to hunt. Sometimes a new post is there and others it is not. I always look at the bottom for those words Newer Post and that gets me there.
DeleteI like Gunnywiggles too and probably do it more than I think I do - LOL. Although like you they don't stick long but they do bring a smile.
Hubby never ceases to surprise with what he can do and he really doesn't think it is a big deal.
You are right the more one goes the less bad it seems. I too leave early just because but I am going to keep going no matter what. - Take care my friend and thanks for 'finding' me.
Happy June! It sounds like you kicked the month off with a whirlwind of celebrations between your grandson and daughter. Pass along a huge happy birthday to both of them. That is so sweet that your husband’s Ferris wheel kit turned out so great, especially with the moving parts and changing lights. You should definitely keep reminding him how impressive that is, because matching up all those tiny pieces and getting the electronics to actually work is no small feat.
ReplyDeleteDon't let the farmers market get you down or make you feel out of place. Those setups can be so overwhelming when everyone else looks like they are on a mission, but honestly, half of them are probably just wandering around aimlessly too. You will absolutely find your groove and your favorite stalls the more you go.
You and your husband deserve a massive medal for tackling that photo organization. Sifting through thousands of pictures and cutting folders down that much is a project that takes serious patience, but it is going to feel so good to have everything streamlined. Hopefully your actual hearing aids come back completely fixed and squeak-free soon so you can ditch the annoying headphones and get back to your usual morning walk routine. Enjoy the new book this week. (((BIG HUGS)))
Thank you for those great words about the farmer's market. I am going to read them again when Thursday comes around. Thank you also for the medal thought about the photos. It is huge and sometimes it get overwhelming but that is the moment that we stop for the day and try again the next. It is massive but one bite at a time will do it (I keep telling myself - lol) Hubby says thank you for your kind words. Huge hugs and wishes for a good week.
DeleteP.S. as the days go on, I can't wait for those hearing aids to be fixed. I am really missing them. These loaners are okay but not mine nor hooked up to the phone.
