I just love the sight of spring flowers on my morning walks. No blog yesterday as it was pretty crazy, busy. Today I have a chance to sit down and visit a bit.
Mother's Day was really nice this year. I got a couple of cards from a friend and DD the 1st. I, also, got some perfect gifts from both DDs. DD the 1st took me out to lunch on the Monday as part of her Mother's Day treating me special. Neither of us care for the crowds on the actual Mother's Day so it was lovely to go to the Beach House for a wonderful perch lunch.
After having a great time there we stopped by Len's Mill for a bit of looking around. This is the place where I end up really wishing I had mastered sewing. The material now is just amazing.
We have a niece that can do amazing things with materials. Sure would love to take her here. Maybe one day she will come up for a visit from Florida.
I think I would have a list on hand for things I would love her to make. Of course, I would buy the material but what fun it would be.
DD worked the next three days at the Superstore. We went for a drive to fill up the car at the Res. and do a bit of shopping there. DD only has one more week at her store and then her transfer puts her at the other store in London. She now has a place to live for her and her kitty. She has a job to go to and she can be with her friends once more.
After her three shifts this coming week her friend will pick her and her necessary stuff plus kitty and that will be it for her time here. They will come down sometime in June to clear out the storage locker and move her things to London. Between now and then anything left at the apartment hubby and I will place in her locker so they only need to make one stop for everything and we can put our stuff back in the soon-to-be guest room. It sure has been fun having her here even with all the driving. We have had lots of time to chat and enjoy the time together but I think that she is ready to really settle in the city she has called home for so long.
Friday I finally got to see my hairdresser, she is super great and therefore super busy and booked up fast. I got all the hair cut off to make it easier with my hearing aids.
Yeah, I know I got caught off guard with this picture but you can see my hair is short.
I walked to and from the hairdresser, listening to my music through my hearing aids. After a brief rest at home it was time for another walk to my hearing specialist at Amplifon as a check in with how things were going. Just a couple of questions and then a review of a couple of cleaning questions and we were good.
Another walk home and then lunch and a rest and then it was off to Coyle's to meet DD's friend and she was off for her weekend there. Kitty stays with us on these weekends and we don't mind looking after her. She is a pretty sweet girl even though she and Tigger stay apart. She stays in their room and Tigger rules the rest of our home. Both of them are truly only-kitties.
By the time I was back from driving I was completely tuckered out and very happy to stay put. Not usually a person who does early morning appointments nor two in one day. I found Friday a little too full for me but I did it and kinda proud of myself for doing so.
I felt like this after settling down after supper. Tigger has the right idea.
So that was the full week of stuff and now time to catch up on some cleaning and laundry today.
Enjoy your weekend.
Wow! Lots of big changes since you last wrote. It's great to read that DD was able to transfer her job and find a living space, too. Good things come to those who wait.
ReplyDeleteNice haircut. I wear mine super short, too. Easy care is the only way to go. How wonderful the hearing helpers are doing their job. They are invisible in the photo.
Kitty has the right idea. To be able to relax and rest anywhere at any time is a skill I would love to possess.
Have a happy weekend. 🤗💖
I know, I would love to be able to stretch like Tigger can. Thanks, I am loving the no-bother haircut. I have always had to have some kind of spray in my hair and now I don't. Hard to get use to but really wonderful to live with. Huge hugs and thanks for stopping by.
DeleteThe time with your DD in residence sure went fast! Glad you had that chance for some good mom-daughter catch-up. Our adult children are blessings even when they have those "transition" times, maybe especially then. We know that we survived our own phase shifts, and when they start experiencing them, suddenly mom and dad are smarter, eh?
ReplyDeleteI'm the same with haircuts... mine's starting to drive me a bit crazy again and it's time to chop it!
I am really loving the short hair and not needing to blow dry or style. I can just brush and go if I like. The time really did go fast and it has been a real eye-opener with DD. I can't wait to get to spring/summer cleaning after she moves. Thanks for stopping by and huge hugs.
DeleteIt was great catching up but I am so looking forward to doing a big cleaning and putting things back where they were before. There was a getting use to for both the aids and the hair but I am so loving both now. Thanks so much for stopping by and commenting, have a wonderful week ahead.
