Weekly Musings of the 26th

Another week and another expansion of the train village.  Hubby finished the two kits he got for his birthday and I think I will have to take kits off his wish list as there just isn't anymore room for them.  Most of the buildings have lights in them and now he is working on grounds, trees, sidewalks and the like.

Before turning in hubby was checking out his work and Tigger joined him on her favourite chair for watching the train go around.

Had to use the flash as his room was only lit by the street lights in the village.

This week was filled with just little busy things, errands and stopping at the doctor's for a follow up on hubby's prescription but nothing huge which was pretty fine by me.

For me, my book was another by Jill Eileen Smith called Star of Persia (Ester's story).

I knew her story from childhood and all the years since.  It was a favourite bible story but this author really fills it out and it is a full rich story of a real woman.

"In an effort to complete a war his father had planned to win, King Xerxes calls every governor, satrap, and official in his vast kingdom to his palace in Susa to strategize and feast. When they finally leave, he decides on one more week of frivolity, which ends in the banishment of his favorite wife, something he never intended to do. But when he discovers Esther, Xerxes is sure he has a second chance at happiness.

In her wildest dreams, Esther could never have imagined that she would end up as queen of Persia. Yet she knows better than to become complacent. Another of Xerxes's wives is vying for position, and his closest advisor has a deep and dangerous grudge against Esther's adoptive father. Caught in the middle of palace politics, Esther will find herself in an impossible position: risk her life or consign her people to annihilation.

With her impeccable research and her imaginative flair, Jill Eileen Smith brings to life the romantic, suspenseful, and beloved story of Esther, queen of Persia."

This was one of those books that you keep reading in bed when you know you should turn out the lights and get some sleep but it is just too good to do that.

As well, got busy on another puzzle between all the things we were getting done this week.

Well, not much more than that this week but I am not sure where it went because between going here and there, Friday has come quickly once more.

So have a wonderful weekend friends and family.

  1. The community continues to expand. An impressive undertaking. It's surprising that Tigger doesn't venture to "town" for a closer look. 😉

A timely puzzle. May I ask where you shop for puzzles? Walmart is the only store around here that carries them, and the choices are very limited. DGD and I work on them during the winter months. I'd like to add a couple of new ones to our collection.

The meme at the bottom of your post is brilliant!

Happy Friday! Wishing you a blessed weekend. 🤗💖

    1. Actually Tigger is amazing when it comes to the train, she just sits and watches it go around. My favourite place to shop for puzzles is Mary Maxim but all their puzzle boxes says proudly made in the USA by SunsOut Inc. (www.sunsout.com) that would probably work better for you. Yeah, I just love the expression on the kitty - LOL.
