Weekly Musings of the 16th

You ever have those weeks that when you look back on it there doesn't seem to be anything worth mentioning?   This week was kind of that way.  Lots of stuff in my mind of course because when do women ever stop thinking of just stuff?  Hubby and I have talked about that and both of us look at each other and wonder how can that be?  He says there are times that he is really thinking nothing, I mean, not a thought, idea, worry, or musing just blank or silent.  To which I replied with what was going on through my mind while just sitting and he wondered how I kept it all straight or how come I didn't just explode.  Which goes to show how people can misunderstand each other so much.

Anyway, enough of my trains of thought... oh sure, now I thought about those trains falling off... LOL.

Hubby is nearly back to normal and with Wednesday being the calm before the storm we both got walks in and then I went off to Waterford Girl to get my soap because another thing that I figured out was that I was feeling itchy because I tried to make due with another kind of soap and that just isn't working out and I needed to go get the kind I use all the time.   I wish I had a dollar for every time I went ahead thinking I had to get something new or try something new only to learn what I was doing or using at first was the best for me.  I would certainly be well on my way to a few million because I do that so often.  (picture me rolling my eyes at myself - LOL) At least as I get older it is happening less and less and I figure it out quicker as well.

Anyway, I was very glad that I did that morning walk and the errands that morning because come the afternoon down went the temperature and then came the ice and then snow which as continued for the rest of the week, so home chores are the best way to go.

Anyway, that was my pretty quiet week.  Wishing you all a great weekend.

Posted this on Facebook and had to share here because it is just so true.

  1. Keep safe and warm. I'm laughing to myself as in years passed I would have my parka on in FL when the temps were in the 40s but I am sporting shorts, tshirt and a flannel :D as I walk the dog. You inspire me to be strong!

  2. I think we all need the "quiet week" now and again, to restore ourselves. But you're right about the inner dialog. It never stops, does it? I am amazed at those who do not have one on automatic!

And Grogu is so right about that last meme! So true!

    1. It sure is, I always roll my eyes and sigh deeply when a streaming app asks me to log in once more. Nope that non-stop silliness just keeps jabbering ;) Take care Barb.

  3. I feel your pain on the "brain that never sleeps" front—the mental gymnastics are real! If I tried to have a "nothing" thought like your hubby, I think my system would short-circuit. It’s a talent, honestly.

So glad to hear he’s on the mend and that you rescued your skin from the "new soap" experiment. Consider that million-dollar lesson learned (again)! Stay cozy and safe from the ice; those home chores are the perfect excuse to keep the mental trains on the tracks while it’s wild outside.(((BIG HUGS)))
