Weekly Musings of the 20th

Well, here we are in Lent already.  Feels like the Christmas season just finished but we were in Ordinary times so...

Anyway, such a warm start this week and I got out for walks in the sunshine each day knowing that freezing rain was coming soon.

Ash Wednesday was suppose to be the day and school boards cancelled buses ahead of time, which ended up being silly in our area as no freezing rain came... yet.

But I am getting ahead of myself with all of this.  On Valentine's Day we stayed home and together we made the meal and dessert.  This was a big deal because I learned from my mother to have no help in the kitchen and to do it all yourself.  I made myself think differently and saw that she missed out on a lot of fun and friendship because hubby and I had a lot of fun together in the kitchen.

First we made our favourite lemon meringue pie and both of us were pleased how well it turned out.

After we made the lasagna that we both enjoy too.

No wine in that glass, hubby and I enjoy the non-alcoholic cider from the Apple Place.  This one was cranberry apple.  Anyway, I have to remember to pause as through this week hubby asked if he could help making the supper and I answered the default - no, I am good.  But remembering how much fun we both had on Valentine's Day I need to pause and say yes more often.

It is amazing how little prayers are answered.  During the day I prayed that the freezing rain would hold off until after we returned from the Ash Wednesday Mass in the evening and we had just got home and changed after and there was a flash of lightening and then the fast downpour of freezing rain.  The parking lot and cars were within 10 minutes completely covered with ice.  I said - thank you in my heart as the lightening continued for nearly an hour.

Now my favourite hobby is that I make books, I have done so with my favourite magazines in my teens and on and off it has continued.  Most of those created books stay around for a time until I don't need the articles or whatever and then they are gone.  This time I saw this picture on Pinterest and an idea came to mind.

I could make a notebook with these summaries of all the books in the bible.  It would be really handy with my bible in a year study (I am on my 5th year of that)

Now of course much of these pictures are from the protestant bibles and are missing those others from the Catholic bible.  I know because I did some major searching when I got to the Book of Tobit.  This is a wonderful book with a great deal of information that is important.  Then it hit me, I could make one for those that are missing and put them on Pinterest with these others that I saved.  So, when I got to books that had not been created in these summary forms, I made my own.  Here is my first one.

After creating it I was able to convert it to a jpg file and put it in the folder with the others so that if any one searches like I did they will find mine.

It is a fun project that I am really enjoying and am looking forward to having this kind of summary sheet on every book in the bible.

It will really help when I am looking for stuff. This is because the depth that I get into now that I am reading the bible for the 5th time has really grown.  I am finding so much in it that relates deeply to today's world.

Anyway, time to get moving as I need to pick up my prescription that is ready.  I got the notice during the freezing rain and sorry, I don't go out in that ever now that I don't have to.  A few more errands as working on this new notebook has given me an idea for a few more books and I need a new package of notebooks which I get from the Dollar Store.

If it wasn't for ticks and mosquitoes I would be there.

Anyway, that is it for me today!

Have a great weekend!
