Last day of the month already and taking the days slow and easy.
Eye appointment on Monday morning and as I figured I needed new glasses as there was enough of a change that I would notice it when reading or on the computer or driving. They should be in next week or so.
I also did my semi-annual pick of new puzzles although neither hubby and I wanted to drive to Mary Maxim in Paris for a 'look see' they do ship so this time I manage not only to find some good deals on the puzzles I managed to get free shipping too. It can be expensive if one isn't careful but with a bit of hunting one can find some pretty great deals. I ended up with 6 new ones which will keep me busy for awhile. I do like getting off screens and working on real puzzles instead of puzzle apps.
Miss Tigger loves puzzles too as when they are finished she loves to lay on them so when I am working on one she watches carefully.
Books this week I went back to the extraordinary women of the bible series and this one was about Sarah. At first I thought, okay another one. I had read several from different authors about Sarah but each point of view was interesting. This one surprised as it was set at the time Sarah was dying and all the things could have happened as she lay on her death bed.
Very interesting thoughts of what could have been. I always come away with something deeper to think about and this author has some very good stories to tell.
So, between reading, puzzles and a bit of colouring, some watching of the commonwealth games as well as our usual daily walks it was as always, for this retired couple, another quiet week but quiet is nice especially sitting in the shade of our balcony and reading.
Wishing you all a lovely long August weekend as we say good-bye to July 2026.
Take care.

Oh, Tigger! I'm amazed that she doesn't knock the pieces off your work surface! My older sister has cats and likes puzzles, so our youngest sis managed to find a puzzle keeper that holds the one in progress in such a way that you just fold it up when you are finished with your session, so your pets cannot mess with the loose pieces. If I ever decide to start puzzling in real life again, I'll need something of that sort!
ReplyDeleteGetting off screens and into the real world is a good thing!
Enjoy your weekend. BTW: This one made the reading list (but I didn't check until Saturday, so... don't know if others have made it belatedly).
Yours was at the top of my reading list today so happy to catch up too. I am too about the puzzle pieces but she is really good at just watching and then when it is down stretching out on it and watching her world. I am thinking of writing some blogs from her point of view... lots of ideas on that. Thanks for stopping by my friend.

I want a friendly response to the following blog... Last day of the month already and taking the days slow and easy.

It really feels like the end of the month snuck up out of nowhere, but taking things slow is definitely the way to go. Getting new glasses will be such a relief once they finally come in, especially for reading and screens. Scoring six new puzzles with free shipping is a huge win too, since stepping away from devices to work on something real is always a nice reset.
Miss Tigger taking over the finished ones as her personal lounge spot is so cute, even if she is mostly just supervising your progress. That book on Sarah sounds surprisingly touching, too. It is always cool when a fresh perspective makes a familiar story feel completely new. (((BIG HUGS)))
I think something went wonky on your comment as some is about AI which I don't really use when it comes to writing and part of the blog above but I see that the bottom two paragraphs are you which I am always happy to see. Tigger is pretty cute and I am thinking of writing some blogs from her point of view. Might be fun writing about her training of humans, since we are such slow learners. Have a great week my friend.
